Over three years, five Random Acts Network Centres across England offer 16 to 24 year olds a package of activity including education, training and production support.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England the Random Acts North programme has been extended to include further professional development opportunities for our alumni to better prepare them for a life in the creative industries.
These include personal development support, bursaries, industry events and masterclasses, a festival toolkit and a regular newsletter. In addition we are creating a number of commissioning opportunities for participants to create new moving image work.
RANDOM ACTS NORTH: CREATIVE FUTURES
FRI 29 – SUN 30 JULY 2017
This two-day training and development event for young artist filmmakers features masterclasses, workshops and panel talks with a range of professionals from the film and art world. Over the weekend you’ll learn how to kick-start your career, build a successful professional profile, and develop skills in producing and directing new moving image work for the screen.
Creative Futures is aimed at alumni of the Random Acts short film programme and is also open to filmmakers and artists aged 16+ interested in working with the moving image.
The event coincides with the arrival of the Random Acts: Playback exhibition at Tyneside Cinema, showcasing over 200 bold and daring short films from across the country produced as part of Arts Council England and Channel 4’s Random Acts initiative.
Weekend passes £12/£6 for students and Young Tyneside members
